Nitrogen and phosphorus compounds are very essential nutrient element for all forms of life in the water. However, too much of it can lead eutrophication. The traditional methods for ammonium and organic removal from municipal and industrial wastewater are based on biological treatment. Additionally, chemical treatment and selective ion-exchange are also used widely in different kinds of wastewater. Because selective ion-exchange's high efficiency, the strongly compatibility, temperature influence small as well as ammonia nitrogen density change in the water influence little. It has been being hot research in recent years.The high capability ion-exchanger that was made from the given kaolin in Fujian province has been studied in this paper. In predecessor's foundation, the ammonium ion-sieve's molding and its further application for removing ammonium have been mainly studied. In the process of granulation, different cementing agent, material of making finestra and so on assistant material have been chosen in this paper. Simultaneously extrusion-spheronization machine's extrusion speed, the perfectly round speed and the perfectly round time also have been studied, and then the best craft parameter has been chosen. The sphere ammonium ion-sieve's application in reclaimed water also has been studied. The different pellet size, the time, enter quantity, water density and quality influence the ammonia nitrogen's remove effect have been mainly studied in this paper.Based on the experiment of ammonia removal from reclaimed water, the adsorption and desorption mechanism was characterized by various techniques. We use the electronic multifunctional machine to test the granule's intensity and mensurate surface area,pore volume and pore size. The granule's surface also has been studied by SEM. The SEM results show that the surface of granule forms a lot of pores with similar size which is propitious to solid and liquid's contact. This will enhance the reactive efficiency of ion-exchange.
