The fundamental research and Experimental study on the chip-breaking mechanism turning insert with 3-D complex groove at High Speed, which is the main content in the paper.Firstly, carrying out the experiments which adopted the representative type of 3-D Complex groove turning insert, it was 11 kinds of speeds at the constant and high speed cutting; The experimental data was analyzed, and the connection of the critical feed-rate and chip breaking scopes at high cutting speeds were built by the method of Quadratic Polynomial Fitting, Cubic Polynomial Fitting, Regression analysis, Harmonic analysis, Cubic Spline Interpolation; The right mathematical model was chosen, that error was minor and calculate was simply. The study above lays a theory and tests basis for the further investigation of the mechanism of chip breaking by 3-D groove insert in high speed machining.Secondly, the chip-breaking curve of 2-D and 3-D complex groove insert is contrasted and analyzed; Mathematical model of the critical feed-rate and the critical depth of cut are developed by chip-breaking conditions and groove characteristic of the 3-D complex groove turning insert TNMG160408-QM.Lastly, for confirming the accuracy of the relation between the critical feed-rate and speed and the relation between the chip breaking scopes and speed, we do the experiment of chip-breaking strain.
