Short Electric Arc Machining technique belongs to original technique in china, But there were many key problems to solve for Short electric arc manufacturing technique. Now, short electric arc machining technique is still operated by the way of traditional turning machine tool. For solution of short electric arc mechanism research and the needs of numerical control melt application, it is necessary to develop a short electric arc CNC machining. In thesis introduced the peculiarity and types of the numerical control system's software and hardware in nowadays. An Open CNC system according to the requirement of short electric arc machine was developed in this thesis.Through the research of Open CNC system at home and abroad,the thesis analyzes and contrasts several open modes and system structures. The system adopted the typical"PC+motion controller"structure.CNC system based on PC can make full use of the software and hardware of PC .It is the direction of the NC development. It's hardware platform mainly includes a Industrial PC (IPC), a PCI-1240 controller, three 120MB series servo motors,3 GS series driving modules, two SAMCO-vm05 SHF-5.5K inverter and a S7-200 PLC.The PC communicates with the motion controller by PCI bus, with the inverter and PLC by RS485. In the design of software,the Windows 2000 operation system was the basic platform,the Delphi 7.0 was the programming tool. At the same time, the orient-object ideas and the module structure methods were also used in the software design.By using the multi-thread technology, the problem of real-time quick response and control were solved and the ability of multi-task's parallel processing was realized. In this system,the NC-code program file can be read, identified and its simulation can be realized on the screen and the corresponding motion can be carried out and the axis running status can be inspected. In the Part of debugging,from the aspects of hardware and software,debugged the pertinent function of system.
