Recently, Crystal engineering of coordination polymers and supramolecular chemistry have become interesting and rapidly developing fields in inorganic chemistry. Coordinative covalent bond and various supramolecular interactions, such as hydrogen bond andπ-πinteractions, have been employed by chemists to construct topological structures and design coordination polymers with novel structures, to explore their potential applications in chemistry and material science, even to seek for molecular topologies and molecular structures with beautiful aesthetics. With these aims, a number of heterocycle bridging ligands with rigidity or flexibility, symmetry or unsymmetry have been used to connect various metal ions or metal clusters into supramolecular entities with different dimensions and different structures. Hence, it is of great importance to development of supramolecular chemistry and material science if chemists can obtain supramolecular complexes possessing expected structures and functions by designed syntheses and investigate the relationship of their structures and properties. In this thesis, we have prepared fourteen new metal-organic complexes through controlling some subtle interactions in reaction system by ligand H2L1,H2L2 and H2L3 (H2L1 = 1-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)-5-mercaptotetrazole, H2L2= 1 -(4-Hydroxyphenyl)-5-thioacetatetetrazole, H2L3=1 -(4-phenoxyacetate)-5-thioacetatetetrazole) They are:1.C9H8N4O3S(H2L2)(1)2.[Co(HL1)2(H2O)4]·2H2O(2)3.Co(HL1)2(py)2(3)4.Mn(HL1)2(phen)2(4)5.[Zn(HL1)2(phen)2]·1.5CH3OH0.5H2O(5)6.[M(H2O)6](HL2)2[M=Mn(Ⅱ)(6),Co(Ⅱ)(7),Ni(Ⅱ)(8),Zn(Ⅱ)(9),Cd(Ⅱ)(10)]7.Mn(HL2),(phen)(CH3OH)(H2O)(11)8.[Cu(HL2)2(Him)2]n(12)9.[Ba(HL2)2(H2O)3]n(13)10.[MnL23(2,2'-bipy)(H2O)2]n(14)All complexes have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR and elementary analyses. We have also analyzed the luminescence and thermo-gravimetric property of some complexes. Compound 1 is the new synthesized ligand 1-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)-5-thioacetatetetrazole. 2-11 are all mono-nuclear structures; Complex 6-10 are isostructural, Complex 12-14 are one-dimensional chain structures; There are hydrogen bond, n-n interactions or both in these polymers.
