The process of plastics gear injection molding is investigated based on CAE technology in this thesis. By using of the experimental design of Taguchi method, the effect law for the degree of warpage of plastics gear is studied and the optimized processing parameters regarding the degree of warpage as the quality characteristic are obtained. The main works and results of this thesis are as follows:(1) According to the flow simulation theory of injection mold, the mathematical models of the flowing process, packing process and cooling process are built, all of which are simplified by reasonable hypothesis, and the boundary conditions are proposed. The present work has laid a solid theoretical foundation for analytical and numerical solution;(2) A 3D model of plastics gear is built with Pro/Engineer, and the structure of gear is analyzed in static state by using of FEM software ANSYS, both of the deformation and stress of the gear under static load are solved, at same time, the gear's strength is checked, certainly, we could optimize gear structure by this way;(3) The flowing process, packing process and cooling process of plastics gear injection molding are all investigated, e.g., predicting some molding defects, and optimizing the key injection molding processing parameters (temperature, pressure and time);(4) The experiments designed by Taguchi DOE are made regarding the degree of warpage as the quality characteristic, the experimental results are studied by the rank difference analysis and the variance analysis. Finally, the optimum processing parameters and the effect law for the degree of warpage are obtained respectively. Furthermore, many experiments changing one factor only are carried out, using the optimized processing parameters as parameters benchmark, the effect law of each factor on the degree of warpage is presented.The results of this thesis provided reliable basis for designing and manufacturing plastics mold. It has significant application value in engineering, such as: guiding the practical production, shortening effectively period of exploiting new production.
