The quality of the ecological environment refers to the level of overall environment or a combination of environmental factors accommodates to the survival of mankind and sustainable development of socio-economic within the framework of a specific time or space. And the eco-environmental quality assessment is the measure of a specific ecological environment quality, and it is evaluation and forecast for level of ecological environment and their performance changes which arise from the changes of region's ecosystem structure and function. At present, the ecological environment has become the core hot of contemporary global change research and has been regarded by scholars at home and abroad, so the evaluation and study of the quality of the ecological environment has become a frontier area of contemporary science and technology.In this paper, firstly, the relevant theories and methods of the ecological environment quality evaluation were expounded, including the concept, type, method, index system of ecological environment quality evaluation, etc that qua as the theoretical foundation of the study. At the same time, it also clarified the advantages of GIS and RS technology in the evaluation of ecological environment quality, which set up the theoretical and practical basis of the ecological environment quality evaluation supported by GIS based on the multi-source spatial information.Secondly, based on the characteristic of eco-environment in the middle part of Jilin Province and the requirement of societal economic continuable development and eco-environment protection and comeback, the index system of assessing the eco-environment quality was established through different subject spatial data obtained from multi-sources. Meanwhile, a model of synthetic assessment of eco-environment was set up on basis of the grid data with RS and GIS technology. The result of synthetic assessment was achieved by spatial overlay analysis method. Through the analysis of the result, the trend of eco-environment quality distribution was gained, as well as the quantificational numerical value of the eco-environmental synthetic assessment on the unit of county and city regionalism. Ultimately, quantitative analysis of eco-environment quality in the region was achieved.Finally, further analysis of the corresponding conclusions that according to the results of evaluation were achieved, and the achievement and the deficiencies of this paper were stated.
