With the rapid development of computer technology and more and more intense market competition, people's requirements of wire and bar improve increasingly, such as size accuracy, mechanical capability, product quality, manufacturing cost and development cycle. By using computer simulation technology, the whole process of wire and bar rolling, the manufacturability prediction and product precision become the essential means to enhance the market competitiveness itself in steel industry. On the base of adopting advanced design methods, we can optimize the pass parameter ceaselessly, direct the production of the wire and bar by the computer simulation results, and reduce the waste owing to improper design and test-production, so as to boost the competence of the enterprise.For the theory research of wire and bar rolling processing of stainless steel, there are a few documents. Much less for cool-continuous-rolling .On the research base of the existing equipment of Dashan company's cool-continuous- rolling, according to dimension request of the blank and product, this paper adopts two design project to optimize the pass of original six-pass-cool-continuous-rolling, reduces the number of transitional pass on the premise of guaranteeing quality, so as to reduce the rolling pass and achieve the objective of saving energy. Also, this paper carries out the explicit dynamic elastic-plastic FEM numerical simulation for the deformation of this wire and bar continuous rolling by using ANSYS/LS-DYNA, and discusses the variation of metal flow law,the spread,rolling force curve,equivalent stress,equivalent strain and so on in the deformation process of different pass parameters, by comparing with the original results, determines the appropriate pass finally. For the simulation spread and real spread, good agreement is achieved. And the result indicates that this study has certain theory meaning and practical use, it can give a reference basis to get higher quality with lower cost for enterprise.
