The Application Research Of Color Management In Digital Proof

With the development of information technology, the digital process of printing industry is continuously speeding up. As an important part of digital printing workflow, digital proof, whether it can provide standard proof and signature's gist, have been being the focus of printing industry. So it's important to study on the consistency of color gamut. The paper's mainly purpose was to establish ICC profile and correct the profile of digital proof system based on color management, which make sure that digital proof and offset proof keep consistent as far as possible.The main work of this paper and results obtained are as follows:(1) Aiming at the application of digital proof in printing manufactory, study and point out the disadvantage and shortage of present method, and then put forward a more practical workflow of color management. Namely according to the actual capability of printing systems (including color gamut,superimposition rate,dot gain,solid density,contrast as well as color uniformity and son on), through color-gamut matching and calibration experiments in prepress processes to be fully considered , thus carries on the effective management to color.(2) To ensure the reliability of experiment and the accuracy of the data, used the density scale to analyze and calibrate the linearization of Phototypesetter; Simultaneously the output characteristics were analyzed to determine their linear and total ink quantity's control, and adjusted the digital proof press's condition to an ideal state.(3) Designed the experiment flow and then carried on the experiment. Firstly, made the experimental testing plate, which was mainly composed of the ECI2002 color target and image. Printed the testing plate with the help of experienced operator using the press in normal state.(4) On the analysis and processing of experimental data, built the print ICC profile and the digital proof ICC profile. And carried on the simulation proof on the digital proof press using Photoshop and ElecRoc separately. The process of color management has realized which based on the printing condition.(5) Carries on the theoretical analysis to the color management effect; derived printing systems and digital proof system error, and fed the error back to digital proof system to revise. Matching color gamut and testing again. Make sure that digital proof and offset proof keep consistent as far as possible.
