Polyaspartic acid, polyglutamic acid and polyaspartic-co-glutamic acid were synthesized under microwave radicalization, as glutamic acid and aspartic acid raw materials. We further studied the influence of several variables, such as content of catalyst, time, temperature and so on.Using microwave radicalization as heating method, we studied the reaction of polyglutamic acid in water, sulpholane or the mixture of sulpholane and 1,3,5-trimethyl benzene under the same temperature and time. The results showed that the polycondensation of glutamic acid didn't happen.Otherwise, the polycondensation of aspartic acid was also been studied , which occurred in water , sulpholane or the mixture of sulpholane and 1,3,5-trimethyl benzene, too. After changing the dosage of catalyst, the microwave output power, the time of microwave radicalization and the temperature , the effects on the yield of PSI were gained. Then the ring-opening reaction carried out to investigate the influence on molecular weight and molecular weight. Then the polymers were characterized by means of FTIR and GPC trace measurements. At last, we achieved PA with Mn=10000, founded that with the time of microwave radicalization prolongs and the temperature increases, there existed an ascending trend on the yield of PA. But it's opposite when the microwave output power became bigger. The curve of yield with the dosage of catalyst is a parabola. The research on polycondensation of Polyaspartic acid and polyglutamic acid was in progress primarily with the purpose of seeking the feasibility of polycondensation. Also the feasibility of using microwave as the method of heating is investigated.
