Synthesis Of Iodosulfuron-methyl Sodium

Iodosulfuron-methyl sodium is a high-performance, low toxicity and environmental friendly sulfonylurea herbicide which has listed a variety of commercial products abroad while hasn't been fully extended in the country yet. Thus, it has a broad application prospects. We analyzed the synthesis of iodosulfuron-methyl sodium and then designed two different routes. After compared and researched these routes, we selected the dyestuff intermediate 4,4'-dinitrostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid (DNS) as starting materials, via oxidation, sulfochlorination, esterification, amidation, nitro reduction, iodination and condensation to prepare iodosulfuron-methyl sodium. Further study was carried out to optimize the process parameters so as to be practical and feasible for industrial production. And the process was not reported in our country .
