Presently, much attention has been devoted to polymeric materials with fluorescent properties as the polymers not only remain good optical properties of small molecules but also exhibit excellent processabilities.As one chromosphere that possesses outstanding optical properties, stilbene derivatives have been promising materials in recent decades. Many endeavors have been done to design and synthesize polymers containing stilbene groups. Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and radical polymerization are selected to obtained polymer. In this thesis, we focused on the design and synthesize of novel polymers containing stilbene moieties as side chain for fluorescent materials. The fluorescent were studied. The work can be summarized as follows:(1) Three mew monomers containing stilbene groups 4– methacryloxyl -4'-nitrostilbe -ne (NS), 4 - (6-methacryloxyl)– hexyloxy - 4'- nitrostilbene (HNS) and 3,5-dimethoxyl– 4 - (6-methacryloxyl)– hexyloxy - 4'-nitrostilbene (2MeOHNS) were designed and synthesized. ATRP and radical polymerization are selected to obtained polymer. The influence of structure, concentration and solvent polarity on fluorescence of three monomers was investigated in this paper.(2) The monomer acrylic acid 4-(2-benzoxazol)-benzyl ester (ABE) synthesized by my group and monomer 2MeOHNS prepared in this paper copolymerized by radical polymerization. The effect of solvent and solid state when the content of chromophores was different on fluorescence of copolymers was investigated.(3) The monomer 5-(4-(4-vinylbenzyloxy)phenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1,3-diphenylpyraz -ole (STODO) were synthesized by my group and monomer HNS prepared in this paper copolymerized by radical polymerization. The effect of solvent and solid state when the content of chromophores was different on fluorescence of copolymers was investigated.
