In the wire product, the medium&low carbon steel wires are widely used in each field of the national economy. The process route of this kind of steel wire is relatively simple, producing the type product in factories requires high production efficiencies, good stability and high product rate. To achieve the these aims, the better quality of raw materials is required in production practice as well as choosing the proper drawing process and offering the reasonable lubrication and cooling condition.The paper systematically analyzed fracture reason of the 45 steel and LS steel during drawing process in practice, it was found that the factors which affect drawing property of medium&low carbon steel wires were smelt and hot rolling blemish, improper pretreatment of wire rod, poor condition of lubrication and cooling and irrational process of drawing.According to the theories analysis integrated with actual production experience, for the reason of steel wire fracture, the best route of production and request of the material were suggested. Accordingly, raw material quality was improved by optimizing process of smelt and hot rolling, wire rod was pretreated by mechanical descaling and coating borax, soap lubricant was used, the drawing wire drum applied circulating water cooling and the mould applied direct water cooling. In the foundation without increasing the production cost, the drawing property of medium&low carbon steel wire was improved.
