| More than 300 fire fighters lost their lives in world-shaking"9.11"affair. One of core problems that are considered by many fire researching experts all over the world is how to protect fire fighters efficiently and reduce casualty to the minimum during rescuing. In our country, fire army is taking on firefighting, rescuing and anti-terrorist duties. Fire fighters are wounded casually. One of the major factors leading to hurt is attacking on head. In order not to be hurt in the complicated fire fields, fire fighters wear helmets to protect their heads.On the basis of comparing and analyzing fire fighter's helmet throughout the world, this paper provides design and performance of new style fire fighter's helmet to avoid defects of ones that are equipped and used in fire fighting. The new style fire fighter's helmet which suit for Chinese fire fighters'skulls properly is worked out through researching on structure design, material selecting, manufacture process and evaluating test. The new style fire fighter's helmet is conformed to GA44-2004 helmets for firemen tested by National Fire Equipment Quality Inspection and Supervision Center. It has wonderful impacting energy absorbability, heat resistance, sidepiece rigidity, falling resistance, penetrating resistance, flame resistance and strength of chin strap. It is considered to have many advantages after used by fire army. It has appropriate design, clear face shield, wide vision field and large protecting hood. It is steady, comfortable and light when wearing. It solves the problems of former fire fighter's helmet in use. It has great significance to enhance protection for fire fighters in fire field. |
