The mining coal seams in Rujigou coalmine are prepense to spontaneous combustion and there are several fire spot in the coalmine both under coalmine and at outcrops of the coal field. It's a very difficult problem to extinguish such large area coal seam fire both at home and abroad. Therefore, based on character of the coal field set up suitable fire-fighting equipments, and draw out proper fire-fighting blue print becomes very important ensure the coalmine not be threatened with fire.In present study, programmed heating oxidation experiment is taken to study self-ignition property of coal sample Rujigou coalmine. Oxygen consumption rate, CO and CO2 generation rate are tested and index gases for predicting the stage of self-ignition are analyzed according to the experimental result. Based on measured resistance of air flow in different places in coalmine, pressure balancing scheme to prevent the coalmine from self-ignition is put forward. In Rujigou coalmine, it is quite dry, lack of water and there is no loose sediment for preparing fire-fighting slurry. A new technique to prepare composite gel with the rock in the surface of coal field is designed, which includes pulverizing the rock into powder, prepareing slurry by mixing the powder and a kind of suspension with water. The slurry flows to under coalmine through pipeline, and a small amount of gelation material is added into the slurry and then inject the mixture into fire zone. The mixture is gelated and blocked the wind leakage interspace to extinguish fire. Some relative equipment is selected for the gel injecting technique. As to haphazard coalmine fire, a mobile gel fire-fighting technique is put forward to inject fire flexibly. According to actuality of the coalmine, parameters to extinguish or prevent from spontaneous combustion by injecting nitrogen are studied.
