Stellera chamaejasme L. is a perennial herbage plant of daphne. They have strong activity against pests. Sichuan university have studied on Stellera chamaejasme L. in many years. Our laboratory have first found a new kind structure of C6-C5-C6 from the roots which have strong activity against aphide and larvae of Pieris rapae.To find out one pesticide of higher activity, more selectivity and lower toxicity is the direction of the scientists of pesticide. People were attracted by 1,5-diphenyl-1-pentanone because its strong activity against aphide, and the new structure and unique activity. To study the structure-activity to find good pesticide, our work is about Synthesis and activity study of botanical aphicides 1,5-diphenyl-l-pentanone analogues, focus on the modification of the main chain of the compounds. We had Synthesized twelve compounds, and their structure were identified by NMR, MS, IR. Insecticidal activities of these compounds against Aphis gossypii Glov were also evaluated. The follow are our new find through our study:â‘ 1 -phenyl-carbonyl is the one of the most activity structures against aphide.â‘¡the activity of the compounds maybe relate to the polarity of the substituent introduced into parent molecule. When the electron density of carbonyl was increased, the insecticidal activity was increased too. When the electron density of carbonyl was reduced, the insecticidal activity was reduced accordingly.â‘¢The compounds which are saturated carbon chain is good than those are not saturated.The study on the structure-activity 1,5-diphenyl-1-pentanone analogues not only supported some reference to more design on new high biological activity and low toxicity pesticide, but also they possibly have the practical application in the fields of medical treatments and agricultural chemicals.
