From the appearance of Carbon Nanotube, many scientists have been deeply attracted to research and exploite it for it's particular and excellent characteristic of mechanics,electricity and so on.Though people find it that the MWNT has excellent characteristic because of it's special external configuration and strong intertube van der Waals attraction, it is practically insoluble in any solvents, consequently, the application is limited. So how to make the organise decorate on the superficial of Carbon Nanotube and make it compatible with other materials has become one of the hottest problem of Carbon Nanotube's research.In this aricle, we grafted dithioester compounds onto the surface of carbon nanotubes as chains transfer agent of reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. Then the Polystyrene (PS) chains were grown to the surface of carbon nanotubes via RAFT polymerization. At the same time, Carbon Nanotubes which are grafted polymers were applied to improve some plastics, such as PC,PA6 and PP, and then we can research its effect on the mechanics performance, heat performance and electricity performance of the plastics.FT-IR and XPS were used to determine the chemical structure, DSC and XRD were used to measure the heat performance and crystal situation, TEM images of the samples provide direct evidence for the changing of nanostructure and the improving of dispersion.
