The laser processing system based on PC or the laser processing system in which data transforms through parallel interface or serial interface, which is limited by the Widows platform, can not transform data effectively. In order to solve the problems, laser three-dimension processing control system based on ATmega128 was designed. USB interface was adopted in this system to realize the transformation of data between PC and the laser processing control system, which can deal with a large amount of data speedy. More than one laser processing machines can be controlled by only one PC through USB, which can not only reduce the cost, but also improve the efficiency. The capacity of the data memory was extended to 64Mb to satisfy the storage of large amounts data, accordingly, the laser processing machine can work in offline mode.In the first chapter, the current research status of laser processing is introduced and the flaws existing in this system are pointed out, then the methods used to solve these problems are given.Chapter 2 gives a brief introduction to the working principle of laser three-dimension processing control system. The schemes to realize the function of the control system are presented, the models of the chips for the control system were given and the parameters of each chip were introduced.In chapter 3, the hardware designing of laser three-dimension processing control system was introduced.Chapter 4 presents the studies on the laser processing control system based on USB.In chapter 5, the programming of software for the control system was introduced in detail.The last chapter summarizes the design and suggests possible future research directions.
