A Study On The Construction Of China's Contemporary Ecological Morality System

The realities of ecological calamities show us that it is the human being's irrational activities that make the ecological environments degraded in the extreme, and that it is the human beings led themselves into the survival predicament. Now the human beings must not any more surrender themselves to destroying the environments and not ignore the limits of tolerance of the human's activities. In order to get out of the survival predicament and to let both the human people and the nature develop harmoniously, the auto-critical and rational human people try to use ecological morality as the weapon to fight against all the ecological troubles. The ecological morality (i.e. environmental morality) is a brand-new type of morality. It includes the moral consciousness, moral principles and the moral criterion which are used in adjusting the relation between human beings and the nature by means of good-or-evil judgments, the public opinions, the conventions and people's beliefs. It develops and exceeds the concepts of the traditional morality and it adjusts the relation not only between people and people, but also between people and the nature. It is certainly in favor of resolving the ecological and environmental problems and promoting the development of the harmonious relationship between the human and the nature.The ecological and environmental situations in China will not allow people to feel optimistic. China has encountered the considerable challenges and difficulties caused by the affected environment and the industrial development. The more and more serious problems of the population, the resources and the environment have become the bottle-neck restriction of the sound development of China's modernization. At the crucial time of development and in the face of all the problems, the CPC put forward the scientific outlook on development as well as the magnificent strategic mission of constructing the socialist harmonious society, which will surely ease the tense relationship between the human and the nature. Under such circumstances, it is inevitable to construct the Chinese contemporary ecological morality system that is the requirement of carrying out the scientific outlook on development, building the socialist harmonious society, resolving the more and more serious ecological and environmental problems, promoting the people's environmental awareness and participating in the international cooperation of protecting the global environment.It's possible to construct the Chinese contemporary ecological morality system which is based on the reality of resolving the ecological and environmental crisis and the practice of protecting the environment. In addition, to build the Chinese contemporary ecological morality system is also based on the ecological ethic theory at all times and all over the world and the Chinese socialism. The Chinese contemporary ecological morality is a set of principles and rules used in adjusting both the relation between the human and the nature and the interpersonal relationship. Here in this paper, the meaning of constructing the Chinese contemporary ecological morality consists of the following three aspects. Firstly, it is to establish a series of specified and explicit principles and criterion of the ecological morality through out the society. Secondly, it is to make the members in the society accept and ratify those ecological moral principles and criterion and build up the awareness of the ecological morality. Thirdly, it is to bring the ecological morality into play to guide the people's environmental behavior. The way to build the Chinese contemporary ecological morality lies in. It is by means of binging the ecological morality into the CPC's political moral system, strengthening the propaganda and education of the ecological morality and in virtue of the enforcement of the environmental laws.
