The oxygen lance is the essential equipment for modern oxygen steelmaking process whose performance affects the steel-making production output, quality, raw material consumption, production work rate and environment directly and such kinds of important targets. The property of oxygen lance depends on the character of jet that sprays from oxygen nozzle. Most of combined blow converters appear some questions generally in our country ,such as splattering, bottom rising, bottom blowing gas elements blinding, the life of bottom blowing gas elements descending and so on , jet character of coherent jet oxygen lance is researched in this article. By comparison of traditional supersonic jet character, the superiority of coherent jet oxygen lance is vivificated.In this paper, the method of numerical simulation is adopted, by commercial software FLUENT, the flow state of three-dimensional traditional jet without accompanying is simulated under different pressure and temperature condition, when the coherent jet oxygen lance is in accompanying flow condition, flow behavior of accompanying flow field is also simulated when structure parameters and technical parameters are different, important conclusion of these two kinds of jet flow characteristics difference between coherent jet flow oxygen lance and the traditional supersonic jet flow oxygen lance is obtained.The acceptability of mathematical model in this article is proved by the jet flow test experiment results. By analyzing and dealing with the test data, the difference of two kinds of jet has been obtained when there is accompany jet or not, that is low density accompanying flow can protect the central hole main jet, the weakening in axial and diffuse in radial are decreased, and the jet will keep relative coherent state on some degree. The agitation ability of the top-blowing oxygen lance is added, if it can be used on converter, bottom blowing system of converter will be canceled, which can produce economic commercial efficiency.
