Knitting Technique And Performance Research Of Polyolefine Elastic Fabric

Now elastic fabric was applied to the garment more and more, and the elastic yarn mainly is Spandex, but there are many problems during the application aspect. So the DOW Chemical Company developed a new polyolefine elastic yarn-DOW XLA. And it has been used for many internal and abroad well-know garment brands these years. Compared to ordinary elastic yarn, DOW XLA has many excellent features: it retains thermal stability up to 220℃, can resistant chemicals corrosion, can resistant light degradation, so the sorts of products wliich contains DOW XLA have been extended, and the factory also have many choices for producing garment. DOW XLA is a new sort of yarn, now there are few research about it, for example, the influence of weaving processes and dyeing processes on the elastic knitting fabrics of DOW XLA, and comparing its elastic with spandex knitting fabric. I will have a research about these aspects. In this paper, the fabric is produced on a circular knitting machine with 16 inch diameter and 28 gauge for single knit fabric, and 16 inch diameter and 22gauge BCM/60RG 2*4 functional knitting machine , it can be used as a machine for rib knitted fabric as well as a machine for interlock fabric, in my paper, I used it for producing 1+1 rib knitted fabric, and the elastic yarn (DOW XLA and Spandex) was fed in the dial needle. The author explored knitting technology and parameter, compared it with Spandex, investigated elastic yarn feeding speed, elastic yarn tension and the stretch ratio, and then compared the effect of the different fabric structure, different yarn, different stretch on the elasticity of the fabric. I analyzed the problems during the process and presented some methods.By doing some experiments about the dimension stability after washing and then the planeness of the DOW XLA fabric after dyeing, I proved that DOW XLA elastic fabric don't need definite form in advance like the Spandex fabric, it can do scouring and dyeing processing, then need dry and definite form at last.The condition of the dyeing is changing the dyeing temperature and dyeing time, and the others are the same. I use the X reactive dye, so the temperatures are 25℃,30℃,35℃and 40℃, the time are 25 minutes, 30 minutes, 35 minutes, 40 minutes. I used the orthogonal test and designed 16 dyeing experiments, and then tested their elasticity of weft direction and warp direction and then analyzed the data and curves, then got the best dyeing temperature and dyeing time of DOW XLA:25℃, 35min.The research results of this paper have practical significance in promoting the application and manufacture of the DOW XLA fabric.
