Studies Of Infant Furniture Design Based On The Baby's Physiological And Psychological Characteristics

With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the deepening of landscaping and indoor decoration awareness and the further acceptance of the advanced parental concepts, parental housing and infant furniture as a new culture and new products in the Chinese market is gradually developing. Judging from the present situation, China's infant furniture and parental housing environment design is not yet ripe and still in the initial stage. Design sector is not completely formed with the system and modern theories of design which is fit for the development of the times, and many parents also have weak awareness and incorrect concept guides to choose them.Like other products, humanity is what we think of firstly when designing the infant furniture. Basing on this point, a new concept of infant furniture and habitable room's environment design is proposed in this paper. It is important that the design of infant furniture should meet not only green standards but also ecological principles (refer to the people friendly and environmentally friendly design). The infant furniture is no more a simple planar composition with all furniture components, but should be three-dimensional, spacious and even time developing design, adapting to the new century residential architecture and interior space optimization changes in the baby room space.In the analysis of parental housing and infant furniture, the research method of using multi-interdisciplinary knowledge is adopted. On the bases of the study of furniture history and furniture culture, child psychology, ergonomics, design psychology, ethics and furniture design theory are refered to. And analysis, inductive and deductive logic theoretical research methods combined with the large number of field visits and case studies are used.The study is always around the baby's physiological and psychological characteristics as a main line. Firstly, on the bases of baby's physiological and psychological characteristics, the important and necessary characteristics of infant furniture are analyzed; Secondly, the changes of infant furniture, in the characteristics and methods, are described as infant mental and physical growth. Finally, the design method of infant furniture, which can meet all the baby's needs such as the scale, function, shape and color, are summed up.
