As market competition increasing,enterprises must prompt to markets and customer′requirements and develop for multi-specification and small-batch production,high-quality, and low-cost production. For the last few years, Reverse Engineering(RE) and Rapid Prototyping (RP) flourished,which make it possible to exploit production to the marker demand rapidly.As an advanced manufacturing technology in the last few years, RP has successfully realized RP manufacturing,and now,it is developing to the direction of Rapid Tooling(RT).Based on RE and RP,RT has become the hotspot of mould manufacturing,and has been widely researched and applied.This paper has an intensive study on silicone mold based on RP.We have done much work in the whole technical process of RT and worked out the silicone mold based on the RP product. The method of vacuum casting can be used for small amount products. The key effect factors of the silicone mold technical process is found out. Process parameters of vacuum casting is optimized with the method of orthogonal experiment. A new kind of economical mold is provided, which is made up of plaster and silicone.The feasibility of its manufacturing is verified.The research on silicone mold has some significance for practical application. Simul- taneously,through the method of single factor experiment,this paper studied systematically the effection of primary factors of process on size precision.This paper regards the integral research of the dimensional accuracy of silicone molding products as the goal,and the accumulation of the dimensional errors of the integral process is investigated on the basis of optimizing various processing links and improving the accuracy of making. In order to improve the dimensional accuracy of products, the corresponding dimension compensation is given on the basis of accuracy closed-loop control theory and the theory foundation is proposedfor further research on RT.
