| Cutting fluid is used for cutting, punching, rolling and drawing of metal or alloy. It is very important for assisting metal machining. Cutting fluid has four functions: lubricating, cooling, rust proofing and cleaning. Therefore, it can extend the tools life, prevent the metal parts form eroding, take away the heat from machining process, clean the surface of the machine parts and cutting tools. Therefore, it can improve the quality of process and increase production efficiency.Firstly, the paper sorts out different kinds of carboxyl acid and Triethanolamine to synthesize carboxylic ester. Secondly, their anti-rust capabilities are compared. It is found that sulfonic castor oil Triethanolamine ester, oleic acid Triethanolamine ester, Sebacic acid Triethanolamine ester all have good anti-rust capabilities. Thirdly, With the orthogonal test method ,the paper optimizes the formula designing for a kind of environment-protect water-based synthesized cutting fluid which has not nitrite, phosphor, Benzene and hydroxybenzene. This cutting fluid has the capability to prevent rust for 20 hours . It contains boric acid ester, borate and Thiocarbamide as lubricating additives and EP additives. Measured by Ball-Plate friction Testing Machine, the cutting fluid has better lubricating ability than lubricating oil. Some of the materials of cutting fluid are from foliage. Furthermore, bubble remove additives, sterilization additives and stabilization additives are all environment-protection.The paper also explains the mechanism of how the cutting fluid is working and finds that the performance of anti-rust depends on the alkalescence of cutting fluid and the adsorption capability of anti-rust additives. When the polar part of the cutting fluid can absorb the metal surface tightly, and the none-polar part of the cutting fluid can cover the surface densely and prevent the hydrogen hydronium and oxygen from absord the metal surface, the cutting fluid has good rust proving capability. The paper also finds that sulfur and oxygen play the key role in lubricating function by x-ray analysis. Furthermore, it is found that the cooling and flushing of cutting fluid can reduce the area of felted zone. The infiltration of surfactant can help the cutting fluid to enter the cutting zone and form the EP lubricating film. |
