Along with the expansion of polymer flooding application in Daqing Oilfield, the remaining oil in the chief reservoirs of PI Sandstone Group is decreasing gradually resulted in some difficulties to fulfill production replacement. To further expand polymer flooding application, research on polymer flooding in the thin and poor layers was conducted to achieve production replacement right there, thanks to the advanced and matured polymer flooding matching techniques. On the basis of the lab experiments and pilot tests, polymer flooding was brought into industrialization in the thin and poor layers in the period of the 10th five-year plan with 8% oil recovery enhanced. During the industrialized application of polymer flooding in the thin and poor layers in the eastern area in the second array of Bei-1 block, it was successful to make the follow-up adjustments for different stages, to improve the supporting techniques regarding separate layer injection and stimulation, to solve the problems of unbalanced response between the blocks and the wells and the production degree between layers and inside layers, due to the studies on the optimized design of polymer flooding.Through optimized design and dynamic adjustment in the eastern area of the second array of Bei-1 block, oil field development techniques and evaluation approaches on polymer flooding in the thin and poor layers are put forward, which lays scientific basis for EOR by polymer flooding in the thin and poor layers.
