A novel acrylic anodic electrophoretic coating was developed in this thesis. The contents are included as follows:(1) The relationship of the proportion of several monomers of acrylic resin to the properties of the electrophoretic coating was studied, emphatically focused on that of acrylic acid to the water solubility of the coating and the electrophortic speed, that of hydroxyethyl methacrylate to the film permance as well as that of isooctyl acrylate to the corrosion-resisting property of the film.(2) The effect of different hardening agents, including methoxy-cyanurotriamide, butoxy-cyanurotriamide, Redix and isocyanate, upon the performance of the coating was investigated. It was found that the acrylin resin- methoxy-cyanurotriamide electrophoretic coating has a fairly good qualiy.(3) The promotion of concentrated sulfuric acid to the reaction of acrylic resin with methoxy-cyanurotriamide was found and the optimum amount of sulfuric acid used was examined and defined.In addition, the stability of the coating fluid was also investigated by contrasting the composition of the original coating with that of the film by ~1HNMR.The results showed the anodic electrophoretic coating presented here is of good quality and practicability.
