The fluorinated acrylate copolymers were prepared via semicontinuous additionmethod. The solid content of emulsions was about 30%. We have prepared different fluorincontent copolymer by different mixed monomer content. How the structure of copolymers wereaffected by amount of methyl methylacrylate(MMA),butyl acrylate(BA),fluorinated monomerswere characterized by FTIR and 1H-NMR. The results showed that the fluorin content ofcopolymer increased as long as more fluorinated acrylate. Furthermore, because of the differentreactivity ratio of three components, more BA dosage can prominent improve ability offluorinated monomer enter into molecular chain, consequently enlarge the fluorin content ofcopolymer. At the same time, structure and water-resistance of latex films were characterized byATR and contact angle test. Result shows that contact angle is related to fluorin content of filmsurface. Meanwhile, compare the result between FTIR and ATR, it can be concluded that fluorincontent of film surface is higher than fluorin content of copolymer, so improve ability ofwater-resistance.Contemporary, we prepared fluorinated copolymer latex by reactive emulsifier too. Bycomparing these different copolymer, we measured stabilities of emulsions by high speedcentrifugal machine. We find that gelatin of latex prepared by reactive emulsifer decrease bycontrast with latex prepared by normal emulsifer, that is to say, polymerization stabilities is muchbetter. Similarly, we studied the structure of copolymers by FTIR,1H-NMR,19F-NMR and13C-NMR. Result showed that fluorin content of copolymer prepared by reactive emulsifer wassmaller than fluorin content of copolymer prepared by normal emulsifer. 13C-NMR result showedthe micro-sequential structure of copolymer. Amont of -MMA-BA-,-MMA-G04-,-BA-G04-became more as long as more fluorinated acrylate, and -MMA-MMA-,-BA-BA- consist most oftwo unit chain sequential stuctrure. Meanwhile, ATR,XPS,weave reagent waterproof testsuggested that water-resistance of latex prepared by reactive emulsifer was much batter than thatprepared by normal emulsifer.After all, the two kinds of fluorinated copolymer latex have their advantages. For modifyingreactive emulsion copolymer, suggestion is prolong reaction time, or find another emulsifer whichis more active.
