| The construction of metal-organic coordination polymers with high orderlystructures from organic ligands and metal ions through coordinative bonds, hydrogenbonds andπ-πinteraction has been a fascinating research field owing to their potentialapplications in electronics, optics, magnetics, selective catalysis and molecularrecognition. In the past decade, carboxylate ligands have been widely studied because oftheir strong coordination capability and varieties of coordination modes. In this paper, based on the principle of supramolecular self-assembly, we synthesized six novelcoordination complexes using 1, 4-cyclohexanedicarboxylate acid ligand reacted withmetal ions by controlling the pH value and the temperature. Single crystal X-raydiffraction analysis shows that complex [Cd4(chdc)4(H2O)10·9H2O] (1) is a 2D layerstructure constructed by bridging ligand 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylate acid and Cd ions;after adding the terminal ligand 2, 2'-bipyridine or 1,10-phenanthroline to the system, wegained five other complexes with lower dimension Cd(chdc)(bpy)(H2O)4 (2),Cd(chdc)(bpy)(H2O) (3), Co(chdc)(bpy)4(H2O) (4), Co(2,2'-bpy)2(NO2)2(H2O)3 (5), and[Pb(chdc)(1,10-phen)] (6). All these compounds were also characterized by chemicalanalysis, infrared spectra and TG, and fluorescent spectra of compounds 1,2,3 and 6 havebeen analyzed. |
