The phenol, as a main component of industry effluent, which comes from chemical plant, the industry of metallurgy and paper making, has contaminated the water severely, and also has been a foe of human being. So it is practical to study the treatment of phenol, and the study is also helpful for the treatment of waste water.From the 1980s, supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) has been used as an effluent management method, it can turn compound into H2O or CO2 thoroughly. As a green and efficient technology, it has also been applied in the treatment of poisonous complex, plastic and stain, the results turn up effective. Except the advantages of the SCWO, there are still some problems, such as the rigorous conditions, the exorbitant equipment, the varying parameters and the difficult detection. Facing with all the problems, automatic system is introduced, which is a perfect solution.The thesis was mainly based on the principle of supercritical water oxidation of phenol. We studied the intermediate products, such as ethanol, acetone, and we also discussed the influence of the temperature, time, pressure and oxidizer. GC-MS that is used to detect the experiment data is introduced in detail. Finally, in situ detection method was proposed and an automation system was put forward as a scheme that can detect information online.
