In this dissertation, Numerical simulation for automotive body panels was studied. The main contents contain: the basic theory of finite element,preprocess system and post-process system,key parameter of stamping,numerical simulation.This dissertation contains five sections. The first section introduces the development of numerical simulation of sheet metal forming for automotive body panels in home and overseas. It also introduces some problem in study.The second section presents the basic theory of finite element of sheet metal forming and non-linear finite element analysis. It studies the application of explicit finite element in stamping forming.The third section presents preprocess system and post-process system of finite element analysis. It solves some problem of data transform of CAD/CAE system in project. It also studies the post-process system of stamping simulation in detail. The main contain: isoline,thickness contour,stress contour,forming limit diagram,animation,section curve and history curve.The fourth section analyses in detail the effect of key parameters and how to use them for obtaining the better simulation result. The main contain: mesh density,die gap,drawbeads simulation,the original shape of sheet,friction,material model,contact.The last section utilize the preceding research provides real industrial case to simulation the stamping process of sheet metal forming by PAM-STAMP. It obtains reasonable result of stamping simulation and provides valuable case for project application.
