Azo dyes waste water is not only high chromatic, strong noxious, but also difficult to degrade and easy to discompose to carcinogenic aromatic amine under deoxidization condition. So, azo dyes waste water must be treated urgently. Advantages of treating Azo dyestuff Wastewater by 3-dimensional-electrode method was researched compared with the 2-dimensional-electrode method. Furthermore, the technic condition and the mechanism of this method were analysed. In this thesis, the disposal object is methyl orange solution, which has azo dyes structure.Compared the decolor rate of methyl orange solution using iron electrode, graphite electrode and titanium electrode, it was indicated that: titanium electrode>graphite electrode>iron electrode. But the decolor rate of methyl orange solution using titanium electrode was just 1.3% more than the graphite electrode, and the cost of titanium electrode is higher, so, graphite was selected as the electrode.In the experiment of the 3-dimensional-electrode, five facts such as reaction time, stuffing, voltage, pH, electrolyte concentration were selected as the facts that effect the decolor rate. It t was indicated that the order of the affection degree was: reaction time >voltage>pH>stuffing>electrolyte concentration. The best reaction condition was: active carbon stuffing, reaction time=60mins, voltage=30V, pH=12, electrolyte concentration =0.01mol/L. Under the condition, the decolor rate can reach 93%.To educe the same decolor rate(60%), the energy cost of the 3-dimensional electrode was 15 kW·h while that of the 2-dimensional-electrode was 145 kW·h. After the same time, the decolor rate the 3-dimensional-electrode method was 99.4% compared with 59.7% of the 2-dimensional-electrode method. It was proved that 3-dimensional-electrode method was effecting and energy.It was discovered that reaction of treating azo dyestuff Wastewater by 3-dimensional-electrode method accord with stair dynamics. In the reaction, the benzene loop was unfolded while the azo key was destructed. The contamination was dispelled effectively.In the dynamic experiment which standing 100 hours, the decolor rate of treatment of azo dyestuff Wastewater by 3-dimensional-electrode method level off 85%. This method was economy and economic and effective. It can bu used in the treatment of the azo dyestuff Wastewater.
