Economic Analysis On The Coordination Between Trade And Environment

With the main trend of economic development, environmental pollution has become increasingly serious, international trade is blamed for the environmental deterioration. There exists complicated correlation between trade and environment. The basic reason why trade and environment conflict is the institutional failure made by the externality of environmental cost. If the environmental cost can be internalized, then trade and environment can coordinate. Then how can it be realized? Since 1970s, the economists have paid close attention to whether can we take environmental taxation as en effective measure to impose on the contaminated source which causes the destroyment of the environment and the loss of the welfare to make the environmental cost internalized and coordinate trade and environment.Basing on the above analysis, the dissertation constitutes of 3 parts 5 units as following:Part 1 which includes unit 1 and unit 2, is putting forward questions, summarizing research, research issues, research methods, research innovation and the shortage. There is an general analysis of the interactional relationship between environment and trade,then it studies the deep institutional reasons why the conflict exists, finally it puts forward the possible resolution to solve the confliction.Part 2 which includes unit 3, is the construction and analysis of the model. On the analysis of part 1, this part sets the hypotheses, constructs the model, analyses the relational cases and reaches the conclusions.Part 3 which includes unit 4 and unit 5, is mainly the policy analysis on the coordinating trade and environment. It introduces briefly the experience of environmental taxation of America, EU, Japan, OECD and the developing countries. Then it outlines the useful meanings of these countries' successful experience for our country and provides some useful suggestions for our country to coordinate trade and environment.
