In the process of the original wire rod production, the high failure rate, high energy consumption, inefficient, frequent rolling accident was caused by the low-speed, the unattainable precision, the outdated technology of the process equipment and the electronic-controlled equipment. So it is necessary to innovate and transform in the production processes and electronic-controlled equipment in time. In this paper, the information on the electronic-controlled automation technologies and the testing process of Mill AC and DC drive Control System are presented in detail, which is based on the digestion and absorption of imported equipments, combined with the environment of high-speed wire rod product line in Shaanxi Longgang Group Junlong rolling Ltd., with an output of 400,000 tons per year, which is manufactured by Pu-chen Tianjin Electric drive Company and installed and tested by Chinese 13rd Metallurgical Construction Company. Besides, Microcomputer system for the protection of high voltage, transformer OLTC, reactive power compensation intelligent, Multiphase thyristor rectifier, PLC and its network are also described in detail. At last, the principle of the"6RA70 Digital DC speed controller", which is the product of the Siemens company and mainly tested by the author when installed, and the AC-DC-AC type loading converter induction (LCI) synchronous motor variable frequency control system, "MEGADRIVE LCI DR 8.8MW", which is the product of ABB company in Switzerland and also mainly tested by the author when installed, and the technical problems and relevant solutions between imported equipment and homemade equipment, imported equipment and imported equipment interface encountered in the testing steps and testing process are highlighted. Currently, at home and abroad, synchronous motor VVVF is in the promotion phase in the domain of variable speed transmission with large capacity, so studying and learning it has some practical significance.
