With the rapid development of industry, the air pollution has become more and more seriously. CEMS (Continuous Emission Monitoring System) is regarded as a monitoring instrument, which realizes the continuous, real-time, on-line measurement of particle and gaseous pollutant emission of pollution resource. So it is very important to develop an on-line monitoring technique for particle concentration measurement of emission resource. There are a lot of different methods to measure the particle consentration in clean media. Among these methods, the optic method has become more and more popular for its virtue of fast detecting, wide scope, high automation, capability of on-line measurement and so on. The scattering of light is a ubiquitous natural phenomenon. Mie scattering theory is the theory which can obtain the exact solution of the scattering of a plane electromagnetic wave by an isotropic, homogeneous sphere of arbitrary size.In this paper the calculation of the classical Mie sacattering was studied and the numerical simulation about light scattering was also did.A novel technique for measuring particle concentration based on the scattering integration theory and extinction theory of particle concentration, which was named Scattering/transmission Method, was introduced in this paper. The effects of light scattering collection angel range and particle size distribution on results particle concentration measurement are also discussed.A measurement system of particulate concentration based on Scattering/transmission Method was researched and developed. In this paper the design of measurement system was introduced in detail, and calibration of particle concentration monitoring system based Scattering/transmission Method was studied detailedly in the lab.
