Ecological environment problem has become an increasingly important issue in recent years, ecological security , has become equally important with military security.economic security,political security and national defense security. Therefore, it is meaningful to study ecological security when it comes to the object of evaluation of ecological security home and abroad, there is no study on ecological sensitive area, which is special, sensitive and easily damaged and whose ecological security and protection system need systematic research; when it comes to the evaluation of ecological security home and abroad, there is still no strict standard applied extensively to judge whether the ecology is secure or not, the research of ecological security is still based on qualitative judgments, moreover, environmental and biological index factors are also involved in this research, which is also difficult to operate. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt a method which is easy for understanding and calculating.This paper is based on a field study of an ecological sensitive area—Chizhou City.By adopting the methods of ecological footprint and artificial neural network, the investigator analyzes the sensitivity, warning and warning stage of Chizhou City.The investigation shows that :(1) In 1996—2004, the bearing capacity of regional ecology is less than ecological footprint, the index of ecological insecurity is more than 1, which reflects the utilization of the natural resources goes beyond the bearing capacity of the nature in Chizhou City, the regional ecological system is insecure, moreover, per capita bearing capacity is decreasing, per capita ecological footprint is increasing, especially in recent years.(2) the evaluation result of each index reflects that the supply of ecological footprint in different area is not symmetrical, forests and construction area are in secure state, water area, arable land and grassland are in insecure state, among which water area is the most insecure, arable land and grassland are less insecure than water area.(3) In 1996—2004, the ecological footprint of average ten—thousand Yuan GDP is 3.4012km~2, higher than the eastern area and other areas of the whole country, which reflects the inefficient utilization of the natural resources.(4)The result of the warning reflects, the general ecological security state is slight in 1996—2001 and medium in 2001-2006 in warning state.Forests and construction area were in secure state, grass land was medium in warning state, before 2001, water area was medium in warning state. While in 2001-2006, it was severe in warning state, moreover, the warning state of the general ecological security and each index are both increasing, which needs solution to construction of ecological security.
