The phase relationship in the Al-Pr-Sb ternary system at 500℃ has been studied mainly by means of X-ray powder diffraction ( XRD ) with the aid of differential thermal analysis ( DTA ) and optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). There are 16 single-phase regions, 30 two-phase regions and 15 three-phase regions in this ternary system at 500℃. A new ternary compound AlPr3Sb7 has been found.The 16 single-phase regions are: α (Al), β(Pr), γ(Sb), δ (αAl11Pr3), ε(Al3Pr),ζ(Al2Pr), η(αAlPr), θ (AlPr2 ), ι (βAlPr3), κ(AlSb ), λ(Pr2Sb), μ(Pr5Sb3 ), ν ( Pr4Sb3 ), ζ (PrSb), ο ( PrSb2) and π(AlPr3Sb7);The 30 two-phase regions are: α+δ, δ+ε, ε+ζ, ζ+η, η+θ, θ+ι, ι+β, β+λ,λ+μ,μ+ν,ν+ζ, ζ+ο, ο+γ, γ+κ, κ+α,α+ζ,ζ+δ,ζ+ε,ζ+ζ,... |
