Molecule ordered self-assembled Films have attracted considerable interested from molecule ordered self-assembled chemistry. Specifically function can be achieved by superficial composition and structure that are designed by self-assembled molecule. Au nanoparticles, Pt nanoparticles and Au-Pt nanobimetallic particles have been synthesized by both NaBH4 reducing and ascorbic reducing. Au nanoparticles, Pt nanoparticles and Au-Pt nanobimetallic particles are studied by Ultraviolet-visible spectra (UV-vis), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy(XPS). The Pt/SnO2 catalytic membrane, Au/SnO2 catalytic membrane and Au-Pt/SnO2 catalytic membrane were prepared by self-assembling Pt nanoparticles, Au nanoparticles and Au-Pt nanobimetallic particles on glassy carbon substrate modified with SnO2 thin film. These catalytic membranes are characterized with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The electrochemical performance of these catalytic membranes is studied by cyclic voltammetry method. The result shows that the Pt/SnO2 catalytic membrane, Au/SnO2 catalytic membrane and Au-Pt/SnO2 catalytic membrane have good electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation.The studies in this thesis are summarized as follow:Sol-gel method and vacuum coating method are used to prepare SnO2 thin film. The characteristic of SnO2 thin film is studied by SEM, EDS, XRD and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). The result indicates that the SnO2 is single phase with crystal structure and the diameter of the spherical particle is about 15nm. It is better than the SnO2 thin film prepared by vacuum coating method because the vacuum coating operates simply and conveniently, is easy to handle thickness of the film and prepares more perfect the film performance.NaBH4 reducing and ascorbic reducing are used to prepare Pt sol, Au sol and Au-Pt bimetallic sol. The characteristic of these sols are studied by UV-Vis, TEM and XRD.
