According to statistic, Citrus is planted by eighty countries or more and its output is at the head of ail fruits. China is one of primary countries producing citrus in the world. In 2004, the citrus planting areas and its output lied the first and third in the world respectively. Chongqing locates in the middle of Yangtze River basin fit for planting citrus. According to the Project, Millions of high quality Oranges in Chongqing made by the Chongqing government, Chongqing will plant citrus for 29.3khm~2 till the year of 2010, producing 1,000 kilotons orange and 500 kilotons orange juice per year. Up till then, the plentiful of citrus pomace will be deposited and produce environmental problerms..In the process of orange juice, citrus pomace reaches 50 percent of raw material. As the citrus pomace is full of nutrition, they are easy to be primarily decaied. The citrus pomace is a kind of reused resource and has plenty of useful matter. Many substances have been distilled, such as essential oil, pigment, pectin, dietary fiber, hesperidine. American, Japan, Brazil and Denmark keep ahead in processing technology of citrus pomace in the world, and many substances have been industrialization, such as pectin's distillation technology in American and Denmark, feedstuff from citrus pomace in American and Brazil, utilization orange fibre technology in Japan. The research of citrus pomace utilization is underway in our country. And however, the study about citrus pomace rests on laboratory and the technology for effectively degradating citrus pomace is rare. Therefore, study on citrus pomace degradating not only produces economic benefit, but also contributes to environment to the three Gorges areas.The cellulose content is 12.7 percent of citrus pomace (dry materials) and will be rising after distilling pectin and hesperidine. The compact cellulose restricts to utilize other substances-binding. Therefore, it is of great significance for useful utilization to reduce the cellulose of citrus pomace. In this paper, soil samples were gathered from forest, mulberry farm, rice farm and compost farm with a large quantity of humus. A fungal strain able to well degradating citrus pomac, named as F160, was isolated from soil samples. After studying on the strain degradating cellulose and producing cellulase, the experiment dealed with the strain F160 degradating condition and formula of materials. Meanwhile, the mechanism, why cellulose-congo-red medium could be used to screen microbe capable of degrading cellulose, is futher studied. The study results listed as follows:1. The screenning of the cellulolytic microbesThe soil sample was inoculated in Hutchison medium and enrichment medium, then colonies which could degrade filter paper were selected, and isolated on cellulose-congo red medium. At last, 75 cellulolytic strains were screened, including 27 bacteria, 9 actinomycetes, 39 fungi. F160 was...
