In the process of iron making with pure V-Ti magnetite ores in Panzhihua Iron& Steel (Group) Co.(Pan-steel), the mass percent of TiO2 can reach 2730%, and the subsequent problems are coming. Actually, via the control of composition of BF slag to make sure the TiO2 in 2324%, and higher the oxygen potential in high temperature to prevent the over-reduced of TiO2, and smooth the iron making process. Although the Pan-steel iron making is in a high level now, there is still a problem of low recovery rate of V resources. In lab-scale, the primary research on rheological characteristics and foaming behaviors of high-titanium BF slag has been studied in this paper, which is also a theroy basis for an excellent technical and economic target with pure V-Ti magnetite ores.On the basis of Pan-steel slag, 16 kinds of slag samples are designed with orthogonal design table L16(44) in the consideration of five factors affecting on slag properites, CaO, SiO2, MgO, TiO2 and MnO are included. There are two group experiments. The first group is to measure the viscosity of slag samples at 8 r/min, 12 r/min, 16 r/min, 20r/min and 1500℃with gear-viscosimeter. According to different rotational speed, different rate of shear is obtained, then, using formulaηa =τi/Di andηa,τi is gained. Based on D andτvalues,τ-D curves of slag samples are plotted, and constitutive equations of slag samples are achieved. On the basis of n, the rheological characteristic of slag can be known, and the effect of slag composition on the rheological characteristic can be got by the way of intuitionistic analysis. On the corner of constitutive equations of the slag samples in the experiment, n is lower than 1, and slag belongs to pseudoplastic non-Newton fluid, so the former measurement which took the high-Ti slag as Newton fluid is wrong, and the corresponding results can't stand for the non-Newton fluid. Among the factors which affect on rheological characteristics of slag, with the value of n, binary basicity is the first one, MgO and TiO2 are the second, and MnO is the last one. The second group experiment is to make sure the rotative speed 12r/min, and measure the viscosity of slag at the temperature of 1450℃, 1475℃, 1500℃and 1525℃.
