| Tin is a rare resource and is also one of old metals that human produced and used earliest. It is always relating with technological progress of human. It is currently a required material for advanced technologies. In the year 2004, among non-ferrous metals, tin had a crazy price rise nearly 74%.This article summarizes the survey of tin smelting technologies, tin resource distribution, production and sale, and current price information at home and abroad, and analyzes the development trend of metallic tin in the future. It briefly introduces reduction of tin dioxide, reduction of associated metallic oxide in the reduction melting process of barilla and the activity of tin-iron in reduction smelting process. On this basis, the technical program design of tin smelting project is made in consideration of the process design task of new tin smelting plant of Indonesian BBIM Corporation and according to construction scale, raw materials for production and requirements in environmental protectionIn the program, it adopts reduction smelting– sulfuration volatilization process tin smelting technology. According to the local conditions and with general consideration in its investment and production capacity, it selects reverberatory furnace as smelting equipment, and also takes relevant technical measures in order to ensure no environmental harm in the course of production. The phase I project is to yield refined tin by smelting-refining process, and the direct yield rate is 84.27%.At present, the supply of metallic tin falls short of demand but tin resource is increasingly exhausted, therefore this design is for the purpose of recovering more tin if possible, and it first adopts"smelting in reverberatory furnace– blowing in smoke furnace", i.e."reduction smelting - sulfuration volatilization"process to refine tin. The implementation of this process program design makes BBIM Corporation properly evade investment risk, saves investment and obtains effect quickly, and also protects the ecological environment near the plant area.This article offers detailed metallurgical calculation for the smelting process of refined tin, gives necessary calculation to model selection and design of key devices and draws relevant engineering design drawings. |
