Many researches have been focused on the design, synthesis, crystal structure and properties of complex crystal material in recent years. Aromatic carboxylic acids, which possess good structure rigidity and thermostability, have broadly been used in the construction of new complexes.Novel five complexes have been synthesized in selected solvents with the first ligand(s) such as p-methylbenzoic acid, m-methylbenzoic acid, 3,5-dimethylbenzoic acid, m-chlorobenzoic acid, diphenyl hydroxyl acetic acid; the second ligands such as 1.10-phenanthroline, 2,2'-bipy or 4,4'- bipy; central ions such as low-poison and low-contamination nickel(II), zinc(II) and terbium(III), respectively. These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectrum analysis, their crystal structures were determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction instrument, the fluorescent or electrochemical properties of the five complexes have also been studied. The main results are as follows:1. Four complexes of [Ni(phen)3][(C6H5)2C(OH)COO]2·6H2O, [Ni(2,2'-bipy)2(ClC6H4- COO)(H2O)](ClO4), [Ni(phen)2(3,5-DMBA)](m-MBA)2(H2O)2 and {[Tb(P-MBA)3- (H2O)2]2·(4,4′-bipy)2}n were synthesized by means of solvent way. The complex of Zn(phen)2[(C6H5)2C(OH)COO]2 was synthesized by means of hydrothermal way.2. The crystal structures of the five complexes have been characterized by X-ray single diffraction instrument. The crystal structures of [Ni(phen)3] [(C6H5)2C(OH)COO]2·6H2O and [Ni(phen)2(3,5-DMBA)] (m-MBA)2(H2O)2 belong to the triclinic crystal system, space group is P?1. However, the crystal structure of [Ni(2,2'-bipy)2(ClC6H4COO)(H2O)](ClO4) belongs to the monoclinic system, space group is P2(1)/n. The complexes above have formed the distorted hexahedral coordination geometry with nickel (II) as the central ions. The crystal structure of Zn(phen)2[(C6H5)2C(OH)COO]2 belongs to the monoclinic crystal system, space group is C2/c, and the central zinc(II) ion coordinated with four nitrogen atoms and two oxygen atoms to form the distorted hexahedral coordination geometry. The crystal structure of {[Tb(P-MBA)3 (H2O)2]2·(4,4′-bipy)2}n belongs to the monoclinic system, space group is P2(1)/n. The central terbium ion coordinated with eight oxygen atoms to form the distorted tetraprism geometry.3. The cyclic voltammetric behavior of these complexes was studied. The resultsshowed that the cyclic voltammetric diagrams of [Ni(phen)3]...
