With the developments of industry and agriculture, the explosions of population, sea has been polluted seriously. The red-tide destroys marine ecological system, threats marine environment, marine biology and human's health directly or in directly. It has been the serious threat to marine fishery, sea travel and entertainment, which greatly prevents the economic development of more than thirty sea countries called global sea pollution. The Union States was ranked the red-tide as one of the three global sea pollutions. The harmful algal blooms (HAB) has been global questions. In the case of much break out of HAB in China sea (especially in Bohai Bay) this research is done. Under the experiment conditions, the ecological growth properties of Gymnodinium spp. are firstly studied. And then the acidic extractions of algal cells is filtrated, analyzed for its nature and quantities. Phaeocystis cells are separated experimentally form the water samples collected in Bohai Phaeocystis blooms in 2005.Plate and dilution was used to separate and culture the Phaeocystis cells from the Bohai water samples; Its ecological properties of growth was studied in this research; The break effect of ultrasonic and freezing method was compared in the breaking treatment of Gymnodinium spp. cells of different periods. It was also used HPLC to analyze paralytic shellfish poisons (PSP) in the Gymnodinium spp. and Alexandrium catenella. In this experiment, the Phaeocystis cells was successfully separated. It is clear that Gymnodinium spp. grow in the environment of Salinity>15, pH = 6~8 and enough microelements (Fe, etc.) , but Vitamin and inoculate period have little effects. The HPLC analysis results indicate there is no PSP in Gymnodinium spp., a little PSP of 10.81 fmol /cell in Alexandrium catenella. It is the first time to work on red tide 's toxicity in Tianjin area of Bohai sea, which accumulate basic data for the red tide research of Tianjin sea area, provide reference for the defend and control of harmful algal blooms.
