| Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) has important effect in a lot of industry stages. Nowadays the developing trends of WEDM are precise-microlization, intellectualization, individualization, environmental protection and high efficiency.WEDM in gas is a kind of newly developed technology, in which gas has been used as a dielectric. Compared with the conventional WEDM, the new method has the features of better WEDMed surface straightness, smaller gap length, no electrochemical corrosion and no pollution in machining, so it is suitable for WEDM finishing.This thesis summarizes the mechanism and processing rules of WEDM, and theoretically explains the reasons for better WEDMed surface straightness with gas dielectric. Besides, the High-Speed WEDM machine DK7740B and the 2302 surface surveying instrument and TDS1012 digital storage oscilloscopes were briefly introduced.In order to study the rule of the discharge states in gas and emulsion, and improve the winding quantity and the surface quality, by the comparisons on experiments under the gas and emulsion conditions with the mould steel Cr12MoV, we do research in the following aspects:1. Summarize the characteristics of three discharge states including gap open, normal discharge and short circuit by compare the waveform in gas and emulsion;2. Force analysis on the electric wire winding in gas;3. Study the winding speed to affect the surface quality (the surface roughness, the straightness) and removal rate, and get the conclusion through the experiments.4. Study the feed speed of worktable to affect the surface quality (the surface roughness, the straightness) and removal rate, and get the conclusion through the experiments. |
