Study On The Synthesis Of Flavanoids

2-Hydroxyacetophenones and aryl aldehydes as starting materials, a series of 2'- hydroxychalcones were synthesized. A series of flavanones were synthesized from cyclization of 2'-hydroxychalcones under phase transfer catalyst at room temperature in good to high yields. 2'-Hydroxychalcones were transformed into flavones quantitatively under microwave irradiation in I2-DMSO system. Furthermore, in the course of preparation 2'-Hydroxychalcones, a one-pot method preparing 1,5-diketones was developed from 2-hydroxyacetophenones and aryl aldehydes in aqueous potassium hydroxide in good yields. Beside, a series of multisubstituted pyridines were prepared from 1,5-diketones. Finally, several multisubstituted thiazoles were synthesized using aroyl thioureas and methyl chloroacetic ester promoted by NaI . All products were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and MS spectra data.
