As the important general used resin, PP and PE have been researched widely. PE have smaller proportion, better stress fracturing resistance and abrasion performance, better heat resistance and chemical stability, etc. But fragility and low temperature resistance to impact are bad. PE has fine electricity insulation, chemical stability, low temperature properties, and good processing mobility, etc. However, heat resistance, ageing properties and stress fracturing resistance are bad. So much reseachers focus their study on the field of modify PP and PE in recent years. This paper has discussed the influence of MMT, nano-SiO2, β crystalline, PA6 and PU on the properties of PP and PE separately.Several kinds of multi-typed MMT (unmodified M-5, organised DK4 and DK1N) have been selected to research the different influence on PP/MMT composite. The mechanics performance, heat resistance and mobility of the composite were discussed, and investigated influence of PP-g-MAH content on the system compatibility at the same time. We found that tensile strength could be improved more than 6%, flexural strength improves 16%, VST improve 6℃, but impact strength to drop inremarkable. PP-g-MAH has obvious effected as the compatilizer of MMT and PP, after joining PP-g-MAH, composite mobility is improved, MFR is raised nearly 40%, heat resistance improves to some extent, comprehensive mechanics performance are optimum too. Using MMT and MMT/PP-g-MAH mixture to modify to three kinds of PP copolymer, the modified effect on PPR and PPB are superior to PPH. POM photo indicates that after joining MMT, the spherulite size of PP was reduced obviously, breaked to fragment, and became nuclear function.The ones that regard nano-SiO2 as PP reinforcing and toughening modifier, the processing technology mixed through melting has prepared PP/nano-SiO2 composite.
