Abstract/Summary:
The simulation of the methanol synthesis process has been studied systemically in this paper. The methanol synthesis reactor is the main object of the study. Mechanism model of the unit was developed according to the equilibrium of mass, energy and momentum, suitable numerical method was also chose, and dynamic simulation program was made according the form and characteristics of the model. Results for apply proved that all of the model, algorithm and software are correct.The methanol synthesis reactor is tube style. Cu-based catalysts are packed in the rubes. The mixture of CO, CO2, H2, etc. which have been heated flows through the tubes to create methanol. Cooling water in the shell takes out the reaction heat to control reaction temperature by evaporation. The gases, that have reacted, flow into heat exchanger to heat up original gases, and then go through methanol cooler and separator, in which methanol has been separated. Most of the gases are used circularly with little taken out to the air.On the basis of the components in this reaction system, two independent reactions were distinguished to simulate complicated reaction system. PFR and CSTR model was respectively developed and calculated, suitable dynamics equations were selected and their parameters were improved in order to meet the requirement of the methanol synthesis process. For the dynamic simulation system, all modules are connected together and become a whole mathematics module by sequential model method.The dynamic simulation system software of methanol synthesis process was developed, which can be applied in the simulation training system. Many optimization works were also done for both the process and the control system by using the system software.
