Study On Waterborne Polyurethane Emulsion Modified By Acrylate-Epoxy Resin

With the restriction of environmental law and the improvement of people' conception of environment protection, the usage of solvent polyurethane has been limited a lot. Waterborne polyurethane is used in many fields due to its good mechanical properties and little pollution. But pure waterborne polyurethane cannot meet people' need because of its low solid contents and poor resistance to water. In order to improve the properties of waterborne polyurethane' emulsion and films and to broaden its use, waterborne polyurethane need to be modified. Much of work has been done about waterborne polyurethane modified by polyacrylate, which can improve some performances of waterborne polyurethane such as water resistance and solvent resistance. However, its crosslink degree will influence the stability of waterborne polyurethane, and as a result of the low crosslink degree, its mechanical performance and water resistance are not as good as solvent polyurethane.
