Polyacrylamide is a kind of new functionality polymer. It isan important part of water-solubility polymer. Because of itsexcellent performance with multiple, such as components offlocculate and increased mucosity ,surface reactive, landingdehydrate nature and so on, PAM has been widely used for oil,medicine, construction, chemicals, textiles, ceramics, papermak-ing, mining and other industries. Many researchers are concerning how to prepare polyacryla-mide, especially prepare polyacrylamide with superhigh molecul-ar weight. Usually , methods of preparing polyacrylamide include:solvent polymerization;latex polymerization and so on. Solventpolymerization is the most important method. The factors influen-cing polymerization including: initiators, temperature, pH valueof the solution and so on.In this paper, with solvent polymerization AMPS and AM arepolymerized together and AM of all gather together. GB measuredby the product of the molecular weight and conversion rates toidentify the impact of initiators, temperature, pH value of thesolution. Experimental results are showed :1.As (NH4) 2S2O8 + NaHSO3 initiators, if the monomer and theamount of initiators are not changed, the molecular weight ofproduct will lower with the temperature increase. When thetemperature and triggering agents are not changed, the molecularweight of product will increased with the amount of AM isgrowed.2. NaHSO3 used as a initiator, not only it can trigger AMoccurred together with the AMPS aqueous solution ,but also cantrigger formation amides aqueous solution. Compared with thetraditional oxide system ((NH4)2S2O8 + NaHSO3), the quantity ofNaHSO3 is limited , the price is cheaper, the time of convergenceis shorter, and the molecular weight of polymer is higher, theresidue of the product is less.3. In this paper, the author studied fators that influencedsolvent polymerization of AM. At the same time, the kinds andamount of initiator, temperature, the pH value of solution arestudied in detailed.
