| Poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-l,4-phenylenevinylene] (MEH-PPV) was synthesized in this paper. The photoluminescence(PL) and electroluminescence(EL) properties of 5,10,15,20-tetra-p-tolyl-21H, 23H-porphine (TPP) doped MEH-PPV and Poly vinylcarbazole(PVK) were studied and the tentative mechanism of both PL and EL were proposed.The synthesized polymer, MEH-PPV, had a UV-vis spectrum with a wide absorbed band at a peak wavelength of 503 nm. The peaks for the PL spectra at excition wavelength between 400 nm and 500 nm were 592 nm.Although the spectrum overlap between PL spectrum of MEH-PPV and UV-vis spectrum of TPP was small, the energy transfer could be observed clearly from MEH-PPV to TPP in this composite. The light quenching concentration of MEH-PPV in PL and EL was 4% and 8%, respectively. The OLED can emit red, orange, yellow and green as the voltage increasing when the dopant concentration is 3%. The OLED can only emit red when the dopant concentration is 8%. The EL properties of OLED were deteriorated as the dopant concentration increasing.When TPP was doped into PVK, no significant energy transfer was observed and pure red emission was gotten in EL. |
