With China entry into WTO, the enterprise system of China is reformed more deeply, great challenges and opportunities are brought to the textile industry of China, the focus of competition is adjusting product structure and promoting product quality. Using new science and technology to improve traditional industry' process skills is a necessary way to increase productivity. Therefore the traditional textile industry must be improved drastically and step by step. Increasing the occupation rate of shuttleless loom is the best way to promote product quality. Among the shutlleless loom, rapier loom is the universal and reliable textile to small-batch, middle-batch and colorful fabric production.In the textile machine field of China, The rapier loom as a kind of later exploitation but fast development and presently widest application loom is a kind of shutlleless loom. In the exploitation of the rapier loom, the design of electronic let-off and electronic take-up control system is very important. Using high intelligent control system of electronic let-off and electronic take-up control system is an international trend in recent years.After analyzing and generalizing electronic let-off and electronic take-up control system, the paper analyses the functions, the work theory and the synchronous relationship of the above two. Based on the analysis, the paper presents a set of design method of electronic let-off and electronic take-up control system. In this method, electronic let-off and electronic take-up is developed together. Compared with the traditional method, this method simplifies let-off and take-up mechanism, improves automatic level and synchronous character of let-off and take-up motion. The ARM7TDMI-S microcontroller LPC2292 with good performance, low power dissipation, different kinds of interfaces and high speed is used in the design. Using LPC2292 not only simplifies hardware design and enhance the reliability of the control system, but also enhance the system's capacity greatly. The using of AC servo motor makes let-off and take-up motion more accurate and achieves the purpose of stable tension and accurate weft density. The electronic let-off and electronic take-up system uses RS485 and CAN BUS to communicate with the main control system of a loom.The hardware design of the system considers the functions and signal handlingfirst. Then it uses as much as integrated and COMS devices and optocoupler technology to enhance the anti- interference and reliability of the system. The paper introduces the course of software design, key parameters calculating and improved methods in the condition of changing weft weaving.
