Coal residue with the characteristics of lower valotile, high ash, lower heat value and hard-to-burn is one of the most quantity industrial solid residues. Coal bed methane with the characteristics of strong greenhouse effect and easy-to-burn and explode, is released methane in the process of exploitation of coal, and it can be harmful to the exploitation. In this paper, the mixed combustion technology of coal residue and coal bed gas in CFB is represented. It is a new way of utilizing coal residue and coal bed methane synthetically. It has very high economic and social benefits.Based on deep analysis of the status of utilization and study about coal residue and coal bed methane, firstly, the studies were carried out on the characteristics and mechanism of pyrolysis and combustion of coal residue, and its kinetic parameters of pyrolysis and combustion were studied. And at the same time, the effects of coal residue species, pyrolysis temperature, sample particle diameter, heating rates and pyrolysis gas pressure on the pyrolysis process of coal residue were analyzed, and the studies were done on the characteristics of ignition and burnout, general combustion performance and reaction exothermic performance. Based on the studies, the effects of primary air ratio, excessive air coefficient and the mixed combustion ratio of coal bed methane to coal residue on the combustion performance and the pollution emission characteristics were analyzed in the experiment.The results indicate that final pyrolysis temperature, coal residue species, sample particle diameter, heating rates and pressure have an important effect on pyrolysis process with the aspect of mass loss percent and separating out temperature of coal residue. The pyrolysis reaction is subjected to the mechanism of three-dimension global diffusion at the intial pyrolysis, and the activation energy is bigger. The second step of coal residue pyrolysis is subjected to the liquefaction reaction and the progression of chemical reaction is 3/2,and the activation energy is lower. The valotile content of coal residue has an important effect on the combustion process. With the increasing valotile content, the general combustion performance of coal residue is better.
